#UCLAForAll Campaign

For over a year, immigrant students at UCLA and across the nation have struggled with uncertainty as ongoing debate in Washington threatens and leaves unresolved the future of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. At the same time, international students and colleagues at UCLA have been subjected to travel bans that predominantly target Muslim countries. Given these developments, undocumented and international Bruins struggle to pay for core educational needs such as tuition, class materials, housing, and even meals because they lack access to federal financial aid. Furthermore, students often face unexpected legal and attorney fees associated with their immigration status.

To mitigate the financial impacts of harmful immigration policies, UCLA’s Advisory Council on Immigration Policy just launched a crowdfunding campaign, #UCLAForAll, to support undocumented and international Bruins at UCLA. The funds will be used to help students pay for tuition, class materials, textbooks, housing, transportation, and student support services.

The funds will be administered through scholarships, student services, and programs overseen by the office of the vice chancellor for student affairs including UCLA’s Emergency Crisis Response Team and the Undocumented Student Program (USP) at UCLA.

The #UCLAForAll campaign hopes to raise $50,000 by May 7, 2018.
