Last weekend, 94 students celebrated commencement at the Labor Studies graduation ceremony at UCLA’s Covel Commons Grand Horizon room along with their professors, counselors, friends, and families.

The ceremony honored student accomplishments and featured student speakers and Labor Studies faculty. Toby Higbie, Labor Studies Chair, gave a heartfelt speech, “remember that you do not go into your future alone, nor do you get to stop learning. You graduate into a community of struggle and continuous learning. Wherever you may go, remember us fondly, reach out when you need us, and allow us to celebrate your many achievements to come”.

The 2019 cohort of Labor Studies students are poised to continue their academic careers or take on leadership roles in labor and community organizations fighting for economic and social justice.
