Biography

Justin McBride is a labor studies scholar who writes about public finance and the intersections between public policy and worker organizing. He has published numerous articles about organizing efforts, collective bargaining legal frameworks, racial inequality, and public finance more generally. His current projects focus on wage theft, on the history of strategic campaigning in the modern US labor movement, and on organizing efforts in the non-profit sector.

Justin received his PhD in Urban Planning from the UCLA Department of Urban Planning, and over 15 years as a labor organizer.
