Researching the Clean Energy Industry
Workshop Description:
What does the growing clean energy industry mean for workers? This workshop will educate participants on different forms of clean energy, working conditions in the clean energy industry, and how strategic research can help us achieve a just energy transition. Hear stories about how this research is utilized in Texas, the state with the largest growing clean energy industry in the country. Finally, participants will have the opportunity to discuss how this applies to their own work and exchange ideas on what comes next.
Workshop Leader:
Cecilia Behgam is the Research Director of Texas Climate Jobs Project. She previously worked as a Senior Research Analyst on Climate and Environmental Justice at the Action Center on Race and the Economy (ACRE) and a Strategic Researcher at the National AFL-CIO. Cecilia is a graduate and former instructor of the Cornell ILR / AFL-CIO Strategic Corporate Research Summer School. Cecilia has also worked as an organizer for workers centers and tenant unions. She holds a BA in Environmental Studies from Brown University.
