UCLA Coding Bootcamp for Union Research
The UCLA Strategic Research Lab’s Coding Bootcamp for Union Research will be held in Los Angeles from June 8th-12th at the UCLA James Lawson Jr. Worker Justice Center in the MacArthur Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.
While the training is primarily aimed at career union and other social movement organization staff, a select group of undergraduates will be admitted to attend the bootcamp this year. Awardees will spend the week learning from career movement researchers at unions and other social justice organizations, with a focus on coding in python to accomplish basic tasks routinely faced by labor researchers like webscraping, fuzzy data matching, and interfacing with data API.
