Biography

Lucero Herrera is a Senior Research Analyst at the UCLA Labor Center, bringing over a decade of expertise in community-driven, participatory research. She specializes in mixed-methods research, using these tools to amplify the voices and stories of working people and their communities. Her research examines workers' experiences in low-wage industries, including domestic work, home care, nail salons, gig work, janitorial services, and food processing. Lucero is a key contributor to the ReWork team at the Labor Center, which uses applied research, strategic partnerships with worker centers, agencies, and unions, as well as curriculum development and popular education to advance workers' rights and promote safe and dignified jobs.

Lucero's academic credentials include a BA in Sociology from the University of Chicago and a Master's in Urban and Regional Planning from UCLA.
