UCLA: Our Stories, Our Impact Reception
UCLA: Our Stories, Our Impact, a multimedia traveling exhibit honoring alumni who have fought for social justice, launched at Kerckhoff Art Gallery on October 3. On October 5, UCLA Institute for Research on Labor Employment (IRLE) hosted a private reception at the Charles Young Grand Salon to honor alumni featured in the exhibit along with their families, campus leadership, partners, and sponsors of the project. IRLE Director Abel Valenzuela emceed the event, recognizing the work of key individuals who made the exhibit possible. Those who gave speeches included two of the artists, Mer Young and Gabe Gault; Carole Goldberg, distinguished research professor of law and the chair of the Centennial Steering Committee; Patricia Nguyen, senior director of diversity programs of alumni affairs; and Andres Cuervo, director of the Office of the Centennial. The featured alumni also shared a few words about their stories and impact.
