Los Angeles Labor Policy Strategies

Workshop Description:

Los Angeles is a Union Town where we believe that all workers, regardless of where they come from, what they look like, or who they love, deserve to live a dignified life. However, we know that policy development is crucial to delivering on these inherent values. This panel conversation, facilitated by Rob Notoff, Strategic Campaigns Director for the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, will discuss recent policy victories that the LA Fed helped to drive, and how centering rank-and-file members at the center of these policy campaigns lead to eventual passage, and more importantly, policy that raised standards and improved the lives of Los Angeles’ working class. The panel will include staff and member activists from the Los Angeles Garment Worker Center, LAANE, UFCW Local 770, and UNITE HERE Local 11.
