UCLA’s Institute for Research on Labor and Employment (IRLE) advances labor research and education for workplace justice. Through the work of its units – the UCLA Labor Center, the Human Resources Roundtable, the Labor Occupational Safety and Health program (LOSH) and its academic program, UCLA Labor Studies – the Institute forms wide-ranging research agendas that carry UCLA into the Los Angeles community and beyond.

IRLE’s communications team provides strategic communications support for the Institute, its units and its academic program. Working with both internal and external audiences, our team helps amplify IRLE’s story and the impact of its programs on workers, the general public and our campus community.
Every day, our experts engage with local, regional, national and international print and digital news media on timely labor topics and analysis. Our communications staff generates media coverage of IRLE’s people, programs, events and activities.
In addition to its public information and media relations functions, our staff maintains IRLE’s social media channels, manages IRLE’s site, creates digital and print marketing materials and produces a variety of multimedia content.
