Biography
Brenda Suttonwills is the Director of Learning Environment & Academic Affairs at UCLA School of Law, where she earned her JD. Brenda served as Staff Counsel with the California Teachers Association; practiced Labor and Employment Law, at Schwartz, Steinsapir, Dohrmann & Sommers and worked as a Civil Rights Fellow at Litt & Márquez. She has served as a volunteer Supervising Attorney for the Public Counsel Cold and Wet Weather program, providing legal advice at night clinics in South Los Angeles homeless shelters. Brenda was the 2011-2012 Chair of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Section and is active in the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment section’s Diversity and Inclusion in the Legal Profession efforts, and diversity efforts with the California Lawyers Association. She is a mediator and arbitrator and served as Chair of the Los Angeles Hotel Diversity Taskforce, guiding initial implementation of diversity language in the collective bargaining agreement between management and hotel workers.
