The Institute for Research on Labor and Employment (IRLE) is a multidisciplinary research center dedicated to advancing labor research and education for workplace justice. Through the work of its units – UCLA Labor Center, Human Resources Roundtable, and the Labor Occupational Safety and Health program – the Institute forms wide-ranging research agendas that carry UCLA into the Los Angeles community and beyond.
New UCLA Report Finds Driving is More Than a Casual Gig For LA Ride-Hailing Drivers
Our new report, More Than a Gig: A Survey of Ride-hailing Drivers in Los Angeles, highlights the lived experiences and job conditions of drivers working in the gig economy. It is the first comprehensive study of drivers working for transportation networking companies (TNCs) in Los Angeles County.
